Triptans are just one of the medications used for migraine relief, however triptans are by far the most successful at reducing the number of migraine attack a person sees or endures throughout a given month. Triptans are great as a preventative treatment option they work by constricting or narrowing the blood vessels in the brain thus preventing them from expanding and turning into a full blown migraine.
Though the medications listed have proven to be effective, they do have several side effects that could potentially be life threatening so it is vital that any form of medication taken is done so under the care and supervision of a medical professional.
