The state of Florida is one of the chief vacation spots during every summer for out of town guests, vacationers or even the mini vaca getaway. Children building sand castles, grown men trying to skim board (eating sand though most of the time), every woman enjoying a drink while applying their favorite tanning solution – all of these sights and sounds, you can soak up at the beach in the warm Florida sun. However, for an individual who suffers from migraine headaches, the beach may not be as glamorous and can bring about more problems due to the external triggers than the individual is willing to endure.
When enjoying life i.e. going to the beach, you cannot veer from your migraine treatment plan, lest you have a recurring episode due the same external, environmental triggers. The triggers one might experience at the beach which could initiate a migraine occurrence are:
- Sunlight
- Caffeine in beverages
- Weather conditions – i.e. Rain
- Loud noises
- Uncomfortable smells
Other triggers could include:
- Stress
- Humidity
- Dry Air
- Alcohol
- Cigarette Smoke
So, I urge you to focus on these triggers. Analyze which of these cause the most occurrences of migraines and then, avoid them.
To Avoid Or Not To Avoid: That Is The Question
Now unfortunately, you can’t avoid every trigger known to man one hundred percent of the time. There are work responsibilities, family activities and social gatherings that make life enjoyable; if you avoid these, you might as well live under a rock. Therefore, when you can’t avoid these annoying triggers, your migraine treatment plan will be your lifeline to minimizing the onslaught of a horrendous migraine attack.
A migraine treatment plan might consist of a variety of options, such as: prescription meds, acupuncture, massage therapy, chiropractic adjustments or even adding to your diet an ample supply of natural supplements. Although many of these options have merit and help any number of individuals suffering from migraines, natural herbs and vitamin supplements (when added to a daily regime) has the greatest success rate out of all the others and the least amount of side effects. Natural herbs/minerals/vitamins such as feverfew, magnesium citrate, ginger, B & D vitamins will effectively reduce your intensity and frequency of your migraines in a safe and efficient way.
