When you are struggling with the chronic disorder of migraines, you must be focused on where you go and what you do as these activities may cause the occurrences of your migraine episodes. For example, if the trigger for your migraine to take place is perfumes then don’t visit the center section at Macy’s or play with your Grandma’s spray. Certain smells can be powerful triggers which will create the migraine chain reaction. You see, triggers are things you can experience which are usually environmental or physiological in nature. They can pop up at any time and though you would like to avoid them, it nearly impossible to miss them one hundred percent.
Signs To Be Looking Out For
The thing about migraines is that they almost always have warning signs, triggers, or both that will occur before a full blown attack takes place. Because an individual can usually pinpoint what their specific warning signs and triggers are it can be a great preventative migraine treatment. The most common warning signs that would precursor an attack that migraine sufferers need to be aware of would be fatigue, depression, obsessive yawning, food cravings (especially those high in sugar and/or salt), mood changes, irritability, and drowsiness. When a person prone to migraines begins to have any of these symptoms they might want to be more aware of the fact that they are more susceptible to an attack in the near future so that they can try and avoid the migraine attack all together.
Magnesium Citrate
Migraine sufferers usually have a lower level of magnesium when compared to those who do not. Studies have shown that the supplemental dosages of magnesium can help with the painful symptoms of migraines, especially those that might be triggered by the hormonal onset of a monthly cycle in women.
Riboflavin
Vitamin B2 or Riboflavin is an excellent preventative migraine treatment because studies have shown that it can decrease the frequency and severity of migraines. Another benefit of vitamin B2 is that it’s safe to take while pregnant, and it does not cause toxicity. It can also be taken in supplemental form such as a capsule or tablet. If taken in supplemental form it is best to take vitamin B2 with food as it is more easily absorbed into the stomach.
