Fear can paralyze you if you don’t handle the fear properly. Most people handle fear by the fight or flight method but the worst thing you could do is just stand there and do nothing. Now when someone is diagnosed with a illness or condition, they many times either deny the truth (flight) or get angry (fight) but there are some occasions where someone has just stood still physically, emotionally and did nothing to help their situation. This is a negative response and can get you in a lot of trouble. The right response when it comes to being diagnosed with chronic migraine headaches is to use a regular migraine treatment. There are a number of treatment options available to the end consumer today and they can be confusing as to which treatment has side effects and which one doesn’t. Just to make sure you know…, side effects are bad. Consult with your primary care physician to determine which migraine treatment option is right for you and your current health concerns. Do your research and choose wisely.
Acupuncture
Ancient Chinese medicine believes that the body it made up of energy-flowing meridians. If these energy channels become obstructed and blocked then a sickness takes place; plus, until the energy can flow freely once again, the body will maintain the illness. Therefore, if you manipulate needles into the skin along the damaged meridians, they will become unblocked and the ailments will dissipate. Acupuncture is a decent preventive yet evasive migraine treatment option.
Prescription Medications
Triptans and Ergots are the chief drugs of choice by most doctors to treat the vascular condition of migraine headaches. They were not designed for migraines however, but for patients with high blood pressure. In order to treat high blood pressure and even migraines, Triptans and Ergots constrict the blood vessels in the body, stopping them from expanding. For a HBP patient, it works great yet if you don’t have an abnormal blood pressure, it can cause normal veins and arteries to tighten and constrict causing stroke, heart attack and even death. Now days, most people just want to pop a pill and call it good. I don’t think though they would pop the pill of a Triptan or Ergot if they truly understood what future ramifications it could hold.
