There are many migraine treatments that are on the market today. Some work well and others don’t; but the truth to know is that there is no cure for migraines so treatments must be done to help minimize the number of occurrences and level of intensity. Right now, we are going to address some of these migraine treatments.
- Massage Therapy – When most people hear the word “massage,” they think of a large Swedish woman giving to deep-tissue massage, nearly breaking your back to do it; gentleness is not her strong suit. But for curing migraines, you don’t have a Swedish massage, which would hurt you more than help you. You need a more focused massage on the smaller muscle groups along the spine called the sub-occipital muscles. Most people don’t even know where they are yet to a trained massage therapist, relieving the tension in these muscles will drastically help your migraine problems
- Acupuncture – This ancient Chinese remedy has been used for almost every ailment. The Chinese believe that the body is composed of meridians or channels of which energy moves and flows in balance. When this balance is interrupted, you experience an illness or sickness i.e. migraines. So in order to regain balance and symmetry, you insert needles in the skin to stimulate the meridians and enhance blood flow. This migraine treatment has had many proven results with very few side effects. Also there is very little pain involved; out side of the initial prick, you don’t feel the needle once it is in the skin.
- Migraine Support Formula – Comprised of only natural herbs, vitamins and minerals, this effective formula can not only stop a migraine attack in its tracks but it can do so with no known side effects. An herb that is used is ginger. This herb, found mainly in southernAsia, can help calm most stomach ailments such as nausea, vomiting and indigestion which are huge symptoms of migraines. A vitamin used in the formula would be Riboflavin or vitamin B2. Surprisingly enough, the body is constantly excreting this valuable supplement when you use the restroom. However, you must resupply as riboflavin helps relax muscles in the body which also can be a major trigger of a migraine onslaught.
