Keeping a journal or diary can be nice, especially if you are a kid. I remember when my sister has a diary and it was kept under lock and key; the temptation will there and so great to want to steal the key and see what juicy gossip was in the diary. I tried to get it once and break it open with a pairs of pliers but to no avail; they really make those things tough and then again I was only 9 years only. Now the kind of journaling that you can do for a medical condition is very different from the secret diary of my childhood. This kind of journaling is meant to be shared with your physician, spouse and anyone else who could help you or better understand your condition of migraine headaches. By keeping a weekly journal of your day to day activities and encounters, you can better prepare for a migraine attack and even try to prevent one altogether.
You Have To Choose A Treatment
You must choose the correct option for you in order for you to have less intensity and frequency of your migraine attacks. There are a number of migraine treatment options to choose from; the following are some of the current choices and some info on each:
- Prescription Medication – Triptans and Ergots are among these meds and can produce good, long-lasting results when trying to alleviate the pain. However, they have more side effects and can cause different problems than the one (migraine) problem you started out with.
- Acupuncture – Now, sticking little needles all over my body is not my idea of a good time; however, if these little insurgents are placed correctly, they can create an overwhelmingly peaceful, non-tense reaction in your body. Thus, it will help minimize occurrences of migraines.
- Massage Therapy – Ahhhh…there is nothing like a good massage after a long, stressful day at the office. Yet for migraine sufferers, this type of massage can be very relaxing and soothing to the muscles and tenseness that cause migraines in the first place.
Other options such as chiropractic adjustment and natural supplements can also be good migraine treatment choices, especially natural supplements. They can be added to your diet and will have no side effects, plus research has proven that they will work better than most other options.
