There are those moments in life when waiting is a good thing, there is a saying “good things come to those who wait” and in most cases I would have to agree with this statement. However, there are those times when life gets crazy and situations arise that need to be addressed right away. Personal health is the key to a happy life and when the bod y is unhealthy it is difficult to be happy much less active and productive. So if you are one of the twenty million men and women that suffer with chronic migraines waiting may not be your best option.
Sitting around and enduring migraine attack after migraine attack is no way to live or to plan a life. When a migraine attacks and reaches it climatic point the migraine victim can become completely immobile. The reason that a migraine can have such power over a person has to do with the way the migraine develops. A migraine unlike headache develops in the brain or neurologically, migraines are also known as vascular headaches because of the way they develop.
Migraine Development
Migraine development is when the blood vessels in the brain begin to enlarge or expand. The enlarging or expanding of the blood vessels cause extreme levels of pain making painful sensations such as throbbing or pounding to occur. As the blood vessels expand they begin to release a harmful chemical into the brain, the released chemical begins to attack the brains arteries making it very difficult for the brain to compute and function correctly. The attack on the brains arteries sets off a series of symptoms such as:
- Nausea
- Vomiting
- Constipation
- Loss of color
- Blurred Vision
Migraine Treatment
Treating a migraine can be a bit of a challenge and done so through trial and error. There are several different methods and approaches that one can take to treating migraines. The first approach is a prescription based one where medication is used to treat the migraine pain; the down side is the side effects that come with using medications. The second approach would be a natural or holistic one and treatment options would include massage therapy, chiropractic care and or the use of natural supplements all of which are safe and side effect free.
