Vertigo sounds like a fun time but oh, it’s not. It is like dizziness to the tenth degree. It can make you nauseous, unable to function or even perform the most common duties. One of my friends had a case of extreme vertigo and he had to be relieved of work for almost two weeks. Now, can you imagine having vertigo and nausea and vomiting and blurred vision, all at the same time? Well, for most migraine sufferers, this is the reality they have to face on a monthly, weekly or even daily basis. Migraines hold the record for the most common reason to call in at work sick. Millions of Americans each year struggle with the overwhelm risk of chronic vascular headaches and havoc they cause in their everyday lives.
The Workings
So, here is how it works. First, you must encounter a trigger which is primarily environmental or physiological in nature; some triggers like foods or caffeine-enriched drinks you can avoid, while others such as weather changes, cigarette smoke or back / neck tension are harder to avoid. Yet once a trigger is experienced by the migraine sufferer, the process will begin with the blood vessels expanding in the brain. This will cause a chemical to be released in the brain; the chemical will attack the arteries from within the brain but it will also inflame the trigeminal nerve. Both are suspected to cause the great and intense pain associated with migraines.
Help Is On The Way
“Help is on the way!” Famous words from Robin Williams’ character, Mrs. Doubtfire, apply to migraines but it’s not a cure. Help can be “on the way” if you utilize a migraine treatment option from the many migraine treatments available. Consult with you doctor as to which migraine treatment is the right one for you. Here are a couple of the options:
- Acupuncture – Needles, Needles everywhere…at least everywhere important. Chinese medicine has included this technique for ages believing that if you can stimulate certain energy centers / intersections in the body, you can alleviate many of life’s ailments.
- Migraine Support Formula – This formula uses a combination of all-natural herbs, vitamins and minerals to help minimize the intensity and frequency of the migraine and its symptoms.
