Two aspects of migraine headaches include migraine triggers and migraine treatment. Both aspects of a migraine are important to the overall understanding of them thus helping the migraine patient learn more about his or her attacks. If the constant struggle is there surrounding migraines and their outbreaks a chronic migraine sufferer desires to know more about how to find relief and coping mechanisms.
The first aspect of a migraine that is relevant in helping the migraine patient learn how to live with or cope with their migraines is by learning or trying to understand the different triggers that a migraine patient might encounter thus help set the migraine in motion. A migraine trigger can be either environmental and or physiological upsets that help set the stage for a migraine to develop and cause havoc. When a migraine is encountered the body responds by changing both physically and chemically.
Bodily Responds
The body responds to the trigger encounter by causing the blood vessels in the brain to enlarge. The enlarging of the blood vessels creates painful sensations in the head such as throbbing / pounding making it difficult for the migraine patient to focus and function. As the blood vessels continue to expand they begin to release a harmful chemical into the brain, this released chemical sets on a mission to attack the brains arteries creating a whole series of miserable symptoms to be unleashed.
The body responds to the triggers by creating sensations in the body such as: nausea, vomiting, constipation, diarrhea, blurred vision and cognitive confusion. With migraine symptoms such as these overflowing into a person’s work day how can he or she be effective without a migraine treatment.
Migraine Treatment
Migraine treatment is the only source by which migraine relief can be and will be found. Migraine treatment can come in one of two approaches the first being pharmaceutical in nature and the second being holistic or natural in nature. Each treatment approach has benefits as well as a downsides and it is up to the migraine patient to research each and discover which migraine treatment is best suited for them personally.
