Headache vs. Migraine
Symptoms of a headache do not exist outside the mild head pain that comes with having a headache. A migraine comes loaded down and packed full of painful and debilitating symptoms that can leave a grown adult flat on his or her back for several days. Symptoms of a migraine headache would include:
- Throbbing/ Pounding sensation – headaches are a pulsating feeling
- Vomiting
- Nausea
- Blurred Vision
- Constipation
- Sensitivity to light and sound
Headaches last for a few hours whereas a migraine headache can last up to three days. Headaches can be easily treated with over the counter medicines but the pain of a migraine will not ease up at all with over the counter pills. Migraines are felt on one side of the head often right above the eye. Migraines, if reoccurring, are thought to be a neurological condition and medical attention should be sought in order to help find a migraine treatment that would work.
