Medical professionals were forced to do nothing or very little to help aid those who were struggling with chronic pain.
Through the years, small advancements has been made regarding migraine information and what we know about their development, stages, symptoms and treatment options. The development of a migraine is said to happen within four distinct stages, not every migraine patient will recognize the stages unless they begin researching them and asking questions. The first migraine stage is called the prodrome stage this stage is most crucial because it is during this stage that a migraine treatment if implemented quickly will have the most effect on reliving migraine pain. The second migraine stage is known as the Aura stage.
Aura
The aura stage of a migraine is a unique one and not every migraine patient will experience it. This stage gives a huge insight to those who are trying to journal or log their migraine in hopes of seeking out a more effective treatment from their doctor. The aura stage includes symptoms such as: blurred vision, black spots and halo like substances around objects, the aura stage affects ones vision and plays tricks on the migraine sufferer. Those who experience the aura stage can take not that within a few short hours the worse of the migraine will be had.
The aura stage is a quick one and leads into the migraine climax. Attempting to treat a migraine during the aura stage may or may not be effective but it is important that during this stage if at all possible avoid driving, dizziness is often associated with this stage and the dizziness could lead to nausea and vomiting. Each of the migraine stages lead into another and it important that chronic migraine sufferers be made aware of each of the four migraine stages in order to better prepare themselves and their family for what is in store for them all over the next several days.
