Everything about migraine headaches seem to progress at a painfully slow process. From the development of a migraine to the last little bit of lingering symptoms the whole migraine headache process takes several days to fully run its course. Migraines are slow in nature due to the way they develop. The development process is done neurologically thus causing severe head pain and miserable side effects that often alter ones cognitive abilities. A migraine causes the blood vessels in the brain to expand and this is the process of which further pain stems from.
The enlarging of the blood vessels is a slow process; the expansion takes time to fully reach their capacity thus causing severe throbbing / pounding head pain with each expanding stage. Migraine headaches can last up to seventy two hours and with each passing hour the head pain only intensifies until it reaches a full blown climatic moment and then a slow steady decrease of pain begins to occur.

After several days of preemptive warning signs such as the ones listed, more painful migraine symptoms begin to occur and causes complications that eventually drives a migraine victim to seek solitude in a dark and quiet place. Migraine symptoms intensify with time and symptoms may start out manageable, but give it time the pain becomes severe and limiting.
