“Yeah, I talked to him, told him all the benefits. He is not making the money he could if he worked with us; he just won’t pull the trigger and make a decision about it.” This statement can be heard in many corporate situations but more likely heard in sales. When someone says the expression “pull the trigger,” it refers to pulling the trigger of a gun which starts a reaction in the bullet to explode out of the gun toward a perceived target firstly; secondly, it’s a figurative description of making a decision that will be followed by a series of events toward a perceived result. Now, when it comes to migraines, a trigger is the catalyst that starts the cataclysmic downfall mentally, emotionally, and ultimately physically in an enormous, motor-skill altering headache.
A migraine occurs when blood vessels in the brain enlarge, thus releasing chemical into the brain that attacks the system with an earth-shattering headache; it leaves the sufferer almost comatose. Therefore, migraine triggers are negative, hurtful, and many times not fully understand or discovered. In order to minimize these triggered occurrences, you must follow your migraine treatment plan. But what are these triggers? The following are some, yet not exhaustive, on list of migraine triggers:
- Light
- Dry Air
- Humidity
- Weather conditions/changes
- Food
- Alcohol
- Smoking
- Smells
- Caffeine
- Uncomfortable Sounds
The Undiscovered Cure
Unfortunately, these triggers cannot always be avoided; responsibilities must be carried out and work must get done. However, there are a number of, non-prescription med related, preventive options for minimizing migraines which can be added to your migraine treatment plan. The following are two of those options:
- Acupuncture – needles, needles, everywhere….over here, over there. This ancient oriental remedy still plays a major role in curing everyday issues including migraines; if placed correctly, they can bring about amazing results.
- Natural Supplements – “Eat your vegetables!” exclaimed by many a mother. The truth is that herbal, mineral and vitamintary supplements play a huge role in reforming your ability to fight off the frequency and intensity of your migraine attacks. Feverfew, magnesium citrate, vitamin B is a few of these natural supplements.
