Struggling with a chronic condition is something that can cause a person to want to lie down and surrender to the pain and the condition causing the severe pain, and in some ways that thought is an acceptable one. Migraine headaches are one of those chronic conditions that can cause such extreme discomfort that migraine victims would rather lay down and surrender rather than take the steps to get up and fight. The pain and pull of a migraine headache can last for days and leaves a person unable to focus on anything outside the pain they are feeling in their head.
A migraine headache causes blood vessels in the brain to enlarge and cause severe throbbing in the head; as the blood vessels enlarge, they release a harmful chemical into the brain that begins to attack the brains arteries. The brains arteries fight back by sending off a series of miserable migraine symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, blurred vision and constipation. The symptoms can last for several days refusing to let up thus driving a migraine victim into solitude till the end of migraine pain is had. As you can see, chronic migraines can drive a person to the brink and make them want to do nothing but give into the pain, even if that means their brain and everything else could just stop for a few peaceful minutes.
