You always here talk about migraines and the pain that they cause but how many people really know what a migraine is and how it develops and affects the body? If there are over twenty million men and women suffering from chronic migraines, my guess is that not many people know much about migraines and how to find relief from them. Part of the reason that there is a lack of migraine relief in this world has to do with the lack of knowledge on the topic, however there is information accessible but the problem is no wants to search it out.
Hopefully, this article will help make it easier, and more people will begin to understand this condition known as migraine headaches and soon fewer people will be suffering debilitating migraine symptoms. A migraine is not a headache it is in fact a neurological condition that can change the physiological and chemical makeup in a person’s body. The reason that this is so has to do with the way a migraine develops. A migraine develops in the brain and causes the blood vessels in the brain to enlarge or expand. The enlarging of the blood vessels cause intense and throbbing head pain making it difficult if not impossible for the migraine victim to think clearly.
Causes Of Migraines
Though there is still no clarity on the exact causes of migraine headaches, studies and research have given insight on possibilities. One of the possibilities is that those individuals that suffer from chronic migraines tend to have lowers levels of magnesium in their body. Another theory is “migraine triggers” migraine triggers are factors that play a role in the onset of a migraine. Migraine triggers can be environmental and or physiological.
Migraine triggers are sadly unable to be avoided however if known preventative treatment can be administered in hope of lessen the severity of the migraine attack. The following is a list of the most common migraine triggers not every trigger effects every person.
- Stress
- Weather Changes
- Foods- chocolate, aged cheese
