Waking up from a nightmare is a little frightening in and of itself, the reason being is that in those few minutes of waking a person must find his or her baring’s, slow the heart rate, realize that nothing is in the room to harm them and attempt to close the eyes without replaying the nightmare scene over and over. If you have ever been around children much, then you may be aware of a certain stage they go through where at night their imagination runs wild and the relive one nightmare after another.
The one thing a chronic migraine sufferer has in common with nightmares is that they can’t be prevented. Migraine headaches are often worse than having a nightmare because the chronic migraine headaches lived with on a continual basis is a nightmare. Migraine headaches has a power over their victims that leave them lifeless and seeking shelter in a dark quiet place far away from anyone and anything. Without seeking out a migraine treatment, the migraine victim is left trapped in an endless nightmare unable to wake up. Chronic migraine sufferers are forced to deal with fifteen or more headache days a month giving them very little time to enjoy life and all it has to bring them.
When Treatment Goes Wrong
To make the nightmare even worse one can make an unwise treatment choice. Prescription medications used to treat migraine headaches can cause further complications and pain rather then bring healing and relief. Migraine headaches are a miserable way to live but living incapacitated as a result of migraine medication is not any better. Most medications used to treat migraine headaches are not even formulated for migraines and the ones that are designed to treat a migraine can jeopardize a person’s life and health.
Side effects that are common place with prescription medications would be: depression. Anxiety, suicidal tendencies, mood swings, heart attack, stroke, kidney failure and the list just keeps on going. Rather than keeps on living two nightmares do your best to put a stop to one and the second one may cease as well.
