Due to the debilitating symptoms of a migraine headache and the interruption a migraine can cause in one’s life, the onset of a migraine or the mere thought of a migraine developing may send complete panic coursing through one’s body. Migraine attacks are not usually planned therefore when a migraine headache begins life stops, schedules are forgotten and the only thing that matters is suffering through the migraines duration. But what if migraine could be planned, or should I say a plan be in place when a migraine occurs?
By having a migraine action plan, those that juggle work, family and everything else can rest better knowing that everything that needs to get done will get done – even in their absence. When coping with a migraine headache, the body needs time to rest in a stress free environment until the body is through changing and then life can resume. Migraines are more than just severely painful headaches they are in fact a neurological condition that can leave the body to experience immobilizing symptoms that last up to three days.
Migraine headaches take several days to fully manifest therefore once the symptoms or the preemptive warning signs are noted or learned the soon to be migraine sufferer has time to start putting his or her migraine plan into action to help lessen stress, anxiety and work load once the migraine settles in. During the first signs that a migraine is threatening to break through, it is important that a migraine treatment be used to help lessen the duration and severity of the migraine. Possible migraine treatments would include:
- Therapy
- Acupuncture
- Massage
- Vitamins
- Herbal Supplements
A migraine action plan starts with making important phone calls such as notifying work of the impending headache and that you may miss several days. Insure added childcare will be available, solitude will be had and that the house is stocked full of ready-made foods. The goal to overcoming migraine headaches does not always have to be migraine treatment related; just lessening the stress load that a migraine causes due to the time they consume can help migraine sufferers recoup quicker.
