So what is a migraine? A migraine is a chronic vascular, neurological condition that plagues millions of Americans each year. Migraines have quickly risen to be the number one reason for people to call in sick to their work. It is a vascular condition because of how it affects the blood vessels and it is called a neurological condition because of how it affects certain nerves in the brain. Migraines are caused by triggers which mostly environmental or physiological in nature. These triggers ignite the migraine flame inside of each sufferer causing the migraine chain reaction to catalyze. This process can be fast or slower depending on the individual and how their body reacts to the trigger. Here are some of the triggers and then we will discuss what happens during a migraine attack: bright light, loud noises, humidity, dry air, weather changes, hunger, stress, fatigue, too much sleep, certain foods, smells like cigarette smoke or perfume scents and even back and neck tension. Some of these you can avoid while others you can’t without leaving out your family or career.
The Sequence
Once a trigger has been experienced by the migraine sufferer, the blood vessels in the brain begin to expand and enlarge. As they expand, they release a chemical into the brain which attacks the arteries in the brain. This chemical causes the immense pain associated with migraines, along with the inflamed trigeminal nerve. This pain and other symptoms, such as nausea, vomiting, constipation, diarrhea, hallucinations, blurred vision, dizziness, etc, will not cease until the blood vessels that expanded return to their original size.
The Treatment
A migraine treatment is the only relief from the symptoms of a migraine and the migraine itself. The treatment is only a preventative through; it can’t do too much once the migraine has started. There are a number of migraine treatments around so to do your research and consult with your primary doctor is a good thing. They can help you determine which migraine treatment is best for you. The safest and most convenient treatment is the Migraine Support Formula. It is comprised of a precise combination of all-natural vitamins, herbal supplements and mineral compounds to help minimize the intensity and frequent occurrences of the migraines and their symptoms.
