I woke up this morning with some bad neck and back pain. Also when I lift the heavy boxes of chocolate I used for my business, I have some back pain if I don’t lift correctly; you know, from the legs. Now some people think that you can just get a simple massage or chiropractic realignment and all will be good. Wrong-o! For most, it is true; but for migraine sufferers, neck and back pain are common migraine triggers which brings on a migraine soon after the trigger is encountered. They can get help for the back and neck pain but that pales in comparison to the pain they will experience with migraine headaches. The problem lies, since trigger start a migraine, with have to avoid these pesky triggers. Not all of them can be avoided and there is still much research needing to be discovered in order to fully understand migraines and their intricate complexities.
Right after the trigger is encountered, a series of events begin to take place. First, blood vessels inside the brain begin to expand and enlarge. This causes a chemical to be released into the brain which in turn attacks the arteries, delivering excruciating pain unilaterally throughout the head. This pain and other symptoms will continue until the blood vessels that caused this problem return to their original size and position. Here are some of the other symptoms that a migraine sufferer might experience: vomiting, nausea, dizziness, vertigo, blurred vision, loss of motor function and even temporary blindness in one eye.
A Treatable Solution
Since there is no cure for migraine headaches, the only relief one can receive from these attacks is by using a migraine treatment. There are a number of migraine treatment options available to you but I recommend that you consult with you primary care physician to determine which of the options are good for you and your health. Here are a few of the migraine treatments:
- Prescription Medications – Triptans and Ergots are used to help with migraines by constricting the blood vessels so the migraine process cannot get underway. However, since they were not created for migraine but for blood pressure, they bring with them a whole slew of side effects; chiefly is a risk of heart attack…..bad news, if you ask me.
- Migraine Support Formula – As a natural supplement driven migraine treatment, the formula utilizes a combination of herbs, vitamins and minerals to minimize the frequency and intensity of a migraine attack while not putting the sufferer at risk of side effects.
