After a few miserable migraine headaches over a short period of time, the migraine patient begins to become aware of several different aspects. The first aspect he or she begins to become aware of is the amount of pain a migraine can bring, the second has to do with the duration of a migraine and lastly the migraine prone individual begins to realize that his or her body begins to feel odd and uncomfortable days leading up to a migraine attack. Why? The body undergoes several chemical changes when enduring a migraine attack.
When a migraine threatens to break lose, the body begins to respond or react to the chemical changes. A migraine develops in the brain setting a series of chemical reactions in motion such as the blood vessels in the brain begins to expand and enlarge thus causing very painful throbbing / pounding sensations to develop in the head. As the blood vessels expand, they begin to release a harmful chemical into the brain. The released chemical begins to attack the brains arteries forcing another set of miserable symptoms to unfold such as:
- Nausea
- Vomiting
- Constipation
- Diarrhea
- Blurred Vision
- Facial Pallor
- Sensitivity to light and sound
Preventative Treatments
After a few months of suffering with crippling migraine pain and symptoms, a migraine patient will begin to listen to his or her body and what his or her body is trying to communicate. Days before a migraine breaks loose, preemptive warning signs begin to show up alerting the patient that something is amiss. Preemptive warning signs are a great clue in that no head pain of any is had only symptoms such as fatigue, food cravings, obsessive yawning and bouts of depression. When symptoms such as these begin to show up, it is important that the migraine prone individual implement some form of preventative treatment.
Though a preventative treatment is not a 100% guarantee, it can drastically reduce the number of migraine attacks had in a given month. Preventative treatments could consist of prescription medications, Chiropractic Care, Massage therapy as well as herbal supplements such as the Migraine Support Formula.
