Grogginess comes after late nights and busy days, the exhaustion that most busy individuals experience is nothing compared to the extreme fatigue that often surrounds chronic migraine sufferers. Individuals that constantly endure migraine headaches never feel rested and refreshed the reason being that a migraine headache is so painful and the head pain is so intense that it causes the inability to sleep.
Throughout the course of a migraine the pain worsens overtime going from bad to worse. The increase in migraine pain prompts the migraine sufferer toward an upset stomach which often leads to induced vomiting. A migraine moves through four different stages forcing the migraine victim to trudge along as well even though he or she is unwilling, the choice is not up to them. The difficulty comes with knowing what migraine stage is which and what can be done to help lessen the pain during that particular stage.
Stage #1
The first stage of a migraine is known as the Prodrome stage. This particular stage is known as the warning stage, it is here that migraine treatment if implemented is most effective. The symptoms of this stage consist of fatigue, yawning, bouts of depression and food cravings. No head pain is felt during this first stage.
Stage #2
The aura stage is not experienced by every migraine sufferer but for those who do endure the aura stage develop the following symptoms:
- Blurred Vision
- Dizziness
- Black Spots Behind Eyes
The aura stage last only a few hours before the worst of the migraine takes place.
Stage #3
The headache stage is by far the most painful and the climactic moment of a migraine. Throbbing / pounding head pain is felt and endured during this stage as well as a whole slew of other miserable symptoms such as nausea, constipation, sensitivity to light and sound. The headache stage can last up to three days.
Stage #4
The Postdrome stage is the fourth and final stage. After enduring a tense and emotional migraine the victim is left feeling weak and put through the ringer. It is during this last stage that the migraine victim’s body tries to regroup.
