Prodrome is the first stage of a migraine attack and 5 out of 10 people with migraines experience symptoms from this stage. The prodrome can occur hours or even days before the onset of the migraine headache. But before I share some of the symptoms of the prodrome stage, let me go over what happens throughout the whole migraine process. When blood vessels in the brain enlarge caused by a trigger, they release a chemical into your system which attacks the arteries in the brain. This nuisance causes the immense pain associated with migraines. Some of the symptoms of the prodrome stage might include: change in mood like irritable or euphoria, depression, fatigue, dizziness, yawning, more than normal sleeping, stiff muscles and even hot ears. These symptoms and more are caused by the person first experiencing a trigger from the surrounding environment; a migraine trigger could be any of the following: bright light, weather changes, certain foods, caffeine, alcohol, humidity, stress, sleep depravation, loud noises, some smells like body odor or smoking and even dry air.
A Formula That Helps
The Migraine Support Formula is a migraine treatment option that utilizes the wonders of nature to fight against migraines. It is comprised of natural herbs, vitamins and minerals which help combat the symptoms of the prodrome stage of a migraine. Here are some the ingredients:
- Valerian – This tough plant has been used for years to help with insomnia and acts as a natural sedative. Even back during the Greeks, Hippocrates said this plant had great medicinal value. Valerian will fight against the fatigue and other symptoms.
- Riboflavin – A deficiency in riboflavin or vitamin B2 will cause stiff muscles. So a large dose of riboflavin will help to relax the muscles in your body as well as help with the normal metabolism. Vitamin B2 can be found in many common household foods such as: asparagus, milk, green beans, meats, fish and even tomatoes.
- Ginger – The ginger root helps with calming digestive issues like vomiting or nausea. Even though it wasn’t mentioned above as a prodrome symptom, these concerns do show up in this stage and need a migraine treatment to help them subside.
