Don’t you love Thursday? Thursday is by far one of the best days of the week, the reason that Thursday is such a great days has everything to so with its close proximity to Friday! Friday means work week is over and it is time to play and to play hard!! Thursday gives hard workers hope and the strength to push forward knowing that the end is in sight and soon the time will come to clock out.
Those who suffer with migraine pain love their Thursdays as well but there Thursdays look a little differently than ours. A Thursday for a migraine patient is stage four of their migraine headache. Migraine headaches progress through a series of four different stages and through each stage the migraine sufferer moves one step closer to being pain free. Knowing the four different migraine stages, their duration and frequency can help the migraine patient persevere a little longer knowing that indeed that the end is insight.
Stage 1 – Prodrome
Prodrome is the warning stage where the pain has not yet arrived ad only the miserable symptoms such as fatigue, obsessive yawning, food cravings and moodiness make up this particular stage. This stage can last for several days and is thought to be the most effective stage to implement a treatment.
Stage 2- Aura
The aura stage is unique not every person that has a migraine deals with vision problems such as dizziness, blurred vision and black spots behind the eyes. The aura stage lasts only a few hours and then comes stage three
Stage 3 – Headache
Stage three is by far the worst of the worst when it comes to migraine pain. Here in stage three the pain is at its most crucial point and the migraine patient wants nothing more than bang his or her head up against a way in hopes of finding some form of relief.
Stage 4 – Postdrome
The Postdrome stage implies that the end is in sight and in a few hours relief will come and the body can rest in peace. The Postdrome stage does last a day or so and mild symptoms reside but soon life can go back to normal!
