Prodrome is the first migraine stage that a person goes through when dealing with a migraine. There is no pain during the prodrome stage only symptoms such as extreme fatigue, obsessive yawning, food cravings and even bouts of depression. The prodrome stage typically lasts two or three days. The second stage is the aura stage and this particular stage affects the vision and equilibrium of an individual. Not every migraine patient will experience this second stage but when they do symptoms would include blurred vision, black spots behind the eyes and moments of dizziness.
Third stage of a migraine would include the headache stage which is by far the most painful stage. During this third stage, severe symptoms can knock the victim out of commission for several days.
Finally, the fourth stage of a migraine is the postdrome stage; it is during this fourth stage that the migraine patient recovers from the last few days of intense pain. This fourth and final stage of a migraine lasts only a few days and then soon the pain will cease and life goes back to normal – until the next attack.
