Nausea is one of the most uncomfortable feelings I think you can have. It lingers and gets mainly no relief. At least vomiting has some sort of relief after you are done. I was so terribly nauseous today and had rough stomach craps as well; so much so, I got nothing done. This miserable feeling of nausea reminded me today of migraine sufferer have to go through on a daily basis. Yet nausea is just one of the symptoms that come with these vascular headaches; here are some others: vomiting, dizziness, blurred vision, immeasurable pain, loss of concentration and even loss of motor function. These issues are many times unbearable yet usually last three or more days. However, you can minimize these migraine attacks if you can avoid the triggers and follow a migraine treatment plan. First, you must understand what a migraine is. A migraine occurs when blood vessels in the brain enlarge and release a chemical which in turn attack the arteries in the brain. This attacking is what causes the immense, throbbing pain; this pain is what most people associate migraines with. So, as I mentioned, you must avoid triggers whenever possible as they are the catalysts in beginning the migraine sequence. Triggers are as different as the people that they belong to; here are some of the known triggers: humidity, dry air, weather changes, foods, caffeine enriched beverages, back / neck tension, bright light and even sleep depravation.

Next, you adhere to a migraine treatment plan; so you should first consult with your primary care physician and then determine which migraine treatment would be best for you. Migraine treatments do range anywhere from prescription medications to natural supplement and anything in between. As the common choice amongst most doctors, prescription meds are good in relieving the symptoms of the migraine but may cause more harm than good. Triptans and Ergots are the primary medications that doctor will prescribe to help the migraine epidemic. Now, neither of these were designed to fight migraine attacks yet they are the only drugs available that have proven results. Triptans can minimize the migraine by constricting blood flow to certain areas of the body while ergot do the same, they constrict the flow to major organs as well. This is very dangerous and should be advised to take caution.
