Headaches are often thought to be an annoying interruption to one’s daily schedule. When a headache looms, it can cause the headache sufferer to become agitated and frustrated; however the pain is easily treatable with a few over the counter pills such as Tylenol, Motrin and Advil. The pain of a headache is mild in comparison to that of a migraine. Migraine attacks cause much more commotion then a simple interruption. When a migraine attacks, it causes a whole slew of bodily malfunctions.
One bodily malfunction would be the chemical changes that occur in the brain as a result of the migraine development. When a migraine begins to form, the blood vessels in the brain begin to enlarge causing severe throbbing / pounding head pain. The enlarging of the blood vessels can last up to three full days causing severe migraine pains as a result. As the blood vessels expand, they begin to release a harmful chemical into the brain. The released chemical strikes war on the brains arteries releasing an army of miserable and debilitating migraine symptoms that can leave a migraine patient in complete solitude until the pain ceases.

Those individuals that suffer from chronic migraine pain often complain about various symptoms that prevent proper functionality. Migraine symptoms move from bad to worse in a matter of hours, the following is a list of symptoms that migraine patients most commonly complain of:

- Vomiting

- Diarrhea
- Blurred Vision
- Cognitive Confusion
- Sensitivity to light and sound
Symptoms such as the one’s listed are just a few of the miserable feelings and sensations that a migraine victim often deals with. Treating migraine pain with over the counter medicines such as the ones listed a few paragraphs up will do little to nothing in regards to calming the pain. Migraine treatment must be strong enough to fight off all the symptoms while still allowing the migraine patient to have clarity of mind and the ability to function. Migraine treatment can come in the use of prescription medications and or the use of natural migraine treatments such as herbal supplements.
