The other night, I was watching my daughter practice her hula hooping and shaking her cute little body to keep it going. Yet in spite of her effort, she was not getting to hang of it and quickly became frustrated; and as I watched her throw down her hulee hoop as she calls it, it reminded me of how migraines can make you go round and round with little effectiveness and overall frustrate the tar out of you. Only a migraine treatment can help alleviate the situation and since there is no cure, a migraine is the number cause for calling in sick to work in theUnited States. Millions of sufferers a year battle this chronic, neurological disorder with fear, stress and a whole lot of pain. You see, when a migraine begin, there is little that can stop it; all you can do is manage the symptoms and wait it out.
Bang!
Triggers are the cause of the migraine chain reaction and they are mostly found within an individual’s environment, thus they can be avoided but not always. They are many times the most common of things, such as: bright light, stress, hunger, lack of sleep, weather conditions, dry air, certain foods, some smells like perfumes or body odor, uncomfortable sounds and even caffeine enriched beverages. Now once a trigger has been encountered, the migraine process has begun. Blood vessels in the brain will begin to expand and enlarge causing a chemical to be released in the brain. This chemical will attack the arteries in the brain creating a enormous feeling of pain and agony, which will only subside once the enlarged blood vessels return to their normal size.
You’re Not Dead Yet…
Even though there is no cure for chronic migraine attacks, you can relieve the symptoms by using a migraine treatment option. There are a number to choose from and so you must choose wisely as a poor choice could harm you rather than help you. Consult with your primary care physician to see as to which migraine treatment is best suited for you. Here are a couple of your options:
