There are many things in life that can cause a person grief such as: bugs, bad weather, bills, allergies and chronic conditions. One particular grief that over twenty million men and women endure on a consistent basis would be that of a migraine headache. To summarize how much grief a migraine actually causes would be nearly impossible but we can try. A migraine as it develops causes one set of symptoms whereas during the duration of the migraine another set of symptoms begin to develop that cause further grief and misery in the life of the chronic migraine sufferer.
The first set of symptoms a migraine brings on is known as preemptive warning signs. Preemptive warning signs take place several days before any actual head pain is felt. The first signs of a migraine are easily dismissed due to their commonality. The first signs and symptoms of a migraine would include fatigue, obsessive yawning, food cravings and bouts of depression. Migraine headaches move slowly and worsen overtime causing the blood vessels in the brain to expand and cause severe throbbing and pounding head pain. As the blood vessels expand, they cause further grief by releasing a harmful chemical into the brain that begins to attack the brains arteries, the attacking of the brains arteries set off a painful and debilitating list of symptoms.
Symptoms And Treatment
Migraine symptoms when fully unleashed are a force to be reckoned with. The symptoms of a migraine would include:
- Nausea
- Vomiting
- Constipation
- Blurred Vision
- Cognitive Confusion
Migraine symptoms are miserable and can limit a person’s ability to focus on the tasks at hand due to the agonizing pain that consumes the migraine victim’s existence. Treating migraine headaches effectively takes time and effort and often failures before it can be done right.
With there being some confusion still surrounding migraine headaches, their causes and their treatments, several migraine sufferers are often left in the dark about effective treatment options. Migraine treatment can be done through the use of prescription medications and or through holistic and natural treatments. Both approaches to treatment work yet only one is side effect free.
